Finland: Meals of the day 3rd Grade

The third graders talked about food in English lessons and they wrote about their meals: what they eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also made posters about their meals.

Finland: Healthy Nutrition: Calculating Calories 6th Grade

The sixth graders learnt how to calculate calories from their meals. At first they wrote down what they had for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and supper. After that they searched for a list of calories of different foods in the internet and calculated the amount of calories of each meal and then the total amount of calories of the day. After that they compared it to the recommendations of the amount of calories a 11- 14 year-old girl and boy should get during a day. We noticed that especially some girls didn't get enough calories!

The fifth graders studied healthy nutrition in German. They also made posters about it : GESUNDES ESSEN - UNGESUNDES ESSEN

The fourth graders studied healthy nutrition and made posters about it. They also interviewed our head cook to find out what is the most healthy school meal in the schools of Järvenpää. Some pupils made suggestions for a new healthy school meal.
